Anthony Wigglesworth

Anthony Wigglesworth is a Dublin-based contemporary artist whose work sits at the intersection of abstract painting and musical form. Drawing on his M.Phil. from Trinity College Dublin, he uses specially developed tools to explore the tension between chance and control,  the fluid unpredictability of oil set against the precision of ink.

He has exhibited internationally, with a strong presence in New York. In 2019, his work featured in Turbulence at The Sylvia Wald and Po Kim Gallery, followed by Abridgment at Donghwa Ode Gallery. In 2024, he was a principal artist in Genesis, and in 2026 his large-scale work Solar Storm will be installed at the Irish Consulate in Manhattan in collaboration with Donghwa Ode Gallery.

In Ireland, Wigglesworth has held two major solo exhibitions with Sol Art Gallery: 'On the Surface of It' (2018), which examined light and wave forms, and 'Harmonic Fields' (2023), a series of large-scale oil paintings informed by musical structure and rhythm.

Working from his studio in Dún Laoghaire, Wigglesworth continues to explore the relationship between sound, material and perception through carefully constructed, process-driven abstraction.
