Daniel Chester is a visual artist based in County Leitrim. He primarily works in oil paint on lightweight Dibond aluminium. Chester studied Fine Art in Sligo before completing a Master’s degree in Visual Art at IADT in 2009.

His work is characterised by rich colour and atmospheric natural scenes reminiscent of Turner. Light is a central element in his paintings, particularly his depictions of sunlight cutting through mist, which lend his landscapes a poetic, romantic and almost mythical quality. Chester has exhibited widely throughout Ireland and his work is held in both public and private collections.
