Reinder Ourensma
Reinder Ourensma is an award‑winning visual artist living and working in Leeuwarden, the Netherlands. He developed a passion for figurative work while studying at the Minerva Art Academy and has since devoted over thirty years to painting the pristine and rugged landscapes of Ireland. His work evokes the profound stillness and dramatic presence of natural environments, often imbuing scenes with a sense of both isolation and calm refuge from the pressures of modern life.
Ourensma’s paintings celebrate not only the visual appearance of landscape but also its spiritual resonance, reflecting the earth and sky in ways that invite contemplation. In 2009, he won The Gold Award (1st Prize) Painting at the Florence Biennale, demonstrating his skill. His work is widely collected in both public and private collections throughout Ireland and across Europe, reflecting his enduring engagement with the power of place.
