Dan Chester has brought a singularly modern effect to the Irish landscape and has succeeded in presenting it in a universal context. By addressing ecological issues from a bogland setting in Leitrim he captures the global malaise at the rapidly deteriorating eco systems.

At the same time, his paintings are beautiful testaments to the surviving Mother Nature, and his painterly excellence, executed on aluminium sheets, bring him squarely into a modern context, and just the pure esthetic of his work has mass appeal as evidenced by his recent showings on the international art scene.
