The Dancer is inspired by Jack Lattin's last dance, a strange but true story from 1736.  Jack's grave can be found today behind the old church in Naas, where he died at the tender age of 21.  “Matchless on the fiddle,” young Jack was a renowned dancer. One night at a party, he bet he could dance his way home. He won the wager - at great cost. He died the following week! Before the year was out, a lively reel named in honour of the foolhardy fiddler was being played in sessions all over Ireland.

The gallery is centrally located on D'Olier Street which is a 5 minute walk from Trinity College and Dublin's main shopping district Grafton St. The gallery blends a monthly gallery exhibition list throughout the year with a calendar of global art fairs.

Having moved to a fantastic new 3500 Sq ft modern building in March of 2018, Martin and Jay intend to continue putting on significant exhibitions in the gallery while also broadening the Sol Art brand on the international stage
